Bueno is a sandwich café chain which has multiple restaurants in Delhi NCR. This is their first outlet in Dwarka and admittedly looks nice with its design and color combination.
One fine evening we decided to walk in and try their sandwichcraft and see if it can cast a spell on us or not.
It is a small outlet but has space both inside and outside to accommodate decent number of people. They also have those half egg shaped swings for you to just sit and enjoy your time. It’s a minimalistic and rustic ambiance inside with half the area for seating and half for kitchen.
Bueno has an interesting concept of not assembling the sandwich but getting them hand crafted by super chefs with handpicked ingredients. They do have an inhouse bakery and everything is baked literally in the house.
We began with Fusilli Mushroom Ragout which is supposed to be a creamy pasta in white sauce with mushrooms and olives. It does tick all the boxes and is certainly good. I personally liked the consistency of the sauce and fusilli was well cooked too, lots of mushrooms and olives for sure. It was served with 2 slices of plain bread which kind of wasn’t good. Call it a habit or having acquired a specific taste over the years, we truly only enjoy toasted bread with our pastas, otherwise pasta was good but the bread played spoilsport quite adequately.
Since it is a sandwich café, it would be outrageous to not try one and limit yourself to only pasta. We ordered a Cajun spiced chicken sandwich which was very well presented. Served with boiled potatoes and hummus, oddly surprising.
Between the breads were cheese, red onion, mesclun leaves, pickles and grain mustard spread. Everything was in order, but we did not quite enjoy the sandwich. It was too bland and nothing seems to create the right flavour to make it click.
In drinks, we took the thick chocolate shake which was also good. Good amount of chocolate with cocoa crumbles, a proper milkshake it was.
We liked the place, it is different than anything else in the vicinity but fail to see and sandwichcraft in their sandwiches in particular. We will still visit them again and try some more items from their menu to see if there is any magic at all.
