KTM India today launched their Duke range after recently launching the RC twins. Both Duke 390 and 200 were expected but the Duke 250 which only surfaced on the internet few days ago, proved to be more than just a rumor.

DUKE 390

Let’s look at the bigger KTM first, Duke 390 which is an absolute visual treat bearing aFresh design, orange rims and three colour options with fresh graphics, has been launched with all promised goodies.

The engine is same 373 cc as previous one but makes 2 Nm extra peak torquetotaling37 Nm @ 7000 RPM and delivers peak power of 44 hp @ 9500 RPM. Here are all the features of this new Duke

  • New trellis frame that features a bolt-on rear subframe
  • Larger fuel tank of 13.4 litres (old had 11 liters)
  • Side-mounted exhaust system
  • Wheelbase reduced by 10 mm to 1,357 mm
  • Ground clearance increased by 15 mm to 185 mm
  • Seat height increased by 30 mm to 830 mm
  • Dry weight increased by 10 kg to 149 kg
  • Power 44 hp (same as before)
  • Torque 37 Nm (2 Nm increased)
  • Ride-by-wire, LED DRL, LED headlight, LED taillight
  • Color TFT instrument panel
  • KTM MY RIDE for smartphone tethering

  • New Brembo braking system via Bosch 9MB two-channel ABS

DUKE 250

Next up is Duke 250 which is entering India for the first time. This baby shares the design language with the Duke 390 and is powered by a 248.8 cc engine with a shorter bore and stroke as compared to the engine of the 390 Duke and produces peak power of 31 hp @ 9000 RPM and peak torque of 24 Nm @ 7250 RPM.

This motorcycle shares the mechanicals with the Duke 200, gets a side swung exhaust unlike the 200 along with slipper clutch, Multifunction cockpit, USB forks, Trellis Frame, Aluminium Swingarm, larger fuel tank. No ride by wire, LED headlamps or ABS here though.

Ex-Showroom Price: 1,43,000 Approx (Delhi)

Duke 200 stays the same in terms of looks but the new bike is BSIV compliant. Lightweight trellis frame, upside down fork and aluminium swin arm is unchaged. Underbelly exhaust also remains unchanged. Rear monoshock is by WP and is 10 step adjustable.
